The steps in a First Virtual sale are:
a) When making a purchase, a Buyer gives a Seller a VirtualPIN
instead of a credit card number.
b) The Seller then sends the VirtualPIN to First Virtual with a
request to charge the Buyer's credit card for the purchase.
c) First Virtual sends e-mail to the Buyer requesting confirmation
of the sale.
d) Following the instructions in First Virtual's e-mail message, the
Buyer replies:
"YES" - to authorize a charge to their credit card
"NO" - to decline the request for payment
Remember, only after the Buyer confirms a purchase by answering "yes,"
does First Virtual charge the Buyer's credit card -- completely off
the Internet, through the secure financial networks.
